Thanks
Mindsharing Book Acknowledgments
Mindsharing was created using Mindsharing with thousands of people. But before acknowledging them, I wanted to start by thanking two amazing people who created this book with me and were a huge part of this incredible journey I’ve been on.
My first and foremost thank-you is to Lara Love Hardin, my partner in writing this book. We’ve spent countless hours together in which I’ve learned to admire and adore her gift with words. If writing a book is like having a baby—although the pregnancy is longer than nine months—then Lara is the proud mother. Lara, thank you for your amazing work and friendship. You have a very special place in my heart.
Mindsharing is a special baby, as it has two fathers. My second huge thank-you is to my literary agent and Mindsharing’s second father, Doug Abrams. His exceptional vision, insight, and guidance made this book possible. Doug, I am so fortunate to have you as my friend and mentor. Thank you for transforming Mindsharing from a dream into a reality.
A big thank-you to the wonderful team of professionals at Portfolio: my editor, Maria Gagliano, and publisher, Adrian Zackheim, along with Rachel Moore, Will Weisser, Stefanie Rosenblum, and many others who make up this hardworking team.
I’d like to thank David Passig, my PhD professor, for introducing me to the fascinating world of crowd wisdom, and for being my mentor and inspiration.
To Peter Diamandis and Jeff Pulver for supporting Mindsharing from the very beginning. And to my friends who inspired me to write a book, Ilan Itzhayek, Dov Alfon, Gideon Amichay, Gil Peretz, Michael Weiz, and Abigail Tennenbaum.
I also want to thank Maya Elhalal-Levavi for changing my life by letting me know about TED auditions; Aya Shapir for giving me the name Mindsharing; and Or Sagy for suggesting I bring an ox on the TED stage. To Chris Anderson, Kelly Stoetzel, June Cohen, and the entire team at TED for inviting me to speak on the TED stage
Among the thousands of people who were a part of creating this book, a few stand out because they invested many hours in editing the book while adding their thoughtful insights. Thank you Arod Ballisa, Saviram Lior, Noam Ilovich, Daphna Joffe, and Sorin Solomon.
To Jonathan Klinger for his wonderful legal advice and personal story that gave me great insights about Mindsharing for love.
To Sharon Alon and the wonderful team at Herods Tel-Aviv for their generous invitation to write at their hotel while being inspired by the Tel-Aviv seashore.
A very special thank-you to my former managers and mentors, Arie Scope, Shimon Zacks, Meir Raz, Aliza Tamir, Danny Yamin, Adi Eyal, and Judi Granit for helping me to grow out of my comfort zone.
To my private crowd of close friends who are always there for me, Erez and Nava Simon, Rami and Iris Joseph, Yosi and Gili Taguri, Eran and Einat Arbel.
I’d like to thank my family, whom I love with all my heart. My parents, Varda and Moshe. My brothers, Liat and Gal. My wonderful in-law, Abraham. My children, Maya, Ori, and Assaf, and my wife and best friend, Ayala. You are the love of my life and the reason I’m in this world.
People typically think that writers create out of their own imagination. The reality is that Mindsharing is the product of thousands of brilliant people who came together to create a crowdsourced book about crowdsourcing. For everyone who was part of creating Mindsharing—thank you so much. I could not have done this without you.
These are member of my crowd who took an active role in reading, editing, giving suggestions and helping. The wisdom in this book is first and foremost belong to their collective intelligence, passion and enthusiasm to create a crowdsourced book about crowdsourcing.
I am only as good as my crowd.
